3 Killed in Weekend Shootings Across Chicago: Police

Three people, including a 21-year-old man, were killed in shootings over the weekend in Chicago.
According to Chicago police, nine people were shot in nine separate incidents across the city between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Three of those victims were killed.
A 45-year-old man was fatally shot at around 6:40 p.m. Saturday in the 5900 block of South Washtenaw Avenue. Police said he was shot in the back of the head by an unknown offender and was pronounced dead on scene.
At approximately that same time, another man was killed in the 2400 block of West Marquette Road. He was discovered by officers with a gunshot wound to the head and taken to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a 21-year-old man was standing near the sidewalk in the 5900 block of West Madison Street when he was shot in the chest and leg. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, but later died of his injuries.
